IN THE CORRIDOR: AN EXCERPT
I spent the day getting things ready for the season to come. I brought wood up for the wood-burning stove, piling it as high as possible.
With a little sadness, I removed the watering hoses from their summer perches. I left one out that is in a protected area but not attached to the outdoor faucet.
The hills are becoming autumn beautiful. The bluff near my house is accented in red from various bushes giving way for their sleep through the winter months. It's such a beautiful time of year for it to be so nasty.
With Coronavirus cases being announced daily, my prayers are for those who are in the grasp of its tentacles.
For a change of tone, here is a little more from my screenplay to get your minds off the troubles that plague our country. I hope you enjoy it and watch it in your mind's eye as the team continues on...
Screenplay excerpt
***
FS TO TWO-SHOT
Jim walked to the front door and
checked the keys and found the one that fit. Joy walked to the door to join him.
STEVE, OVER THE EARPIECE:
“Corridor
clear, north elevator rising fast.”
Jim handed the keys to George, holding
the apartment key up while Joy opened the door.
FS TEAM
Agents filed out walking fast to
the southside staircase, the furthest distance from the elevator. George locked
the door using King’s key and followed the team up the corridor backward.
FS CAMERA LEVEL/ BACKING OUT
The elevator indicator light changed
indicating that the elevator was rising from one floor to the next getting
closer.
REVERSE ANGLE
George walking backward while the
team entered the staircase.
***
Meanwhile, Shaitan and the group of bodyguards from the banquet hall start up toward the apartment where Yahreh was being kept... (original screenplay tells about this in detail)

FS
Cindy and the team are on the
landing. She motioned them downward. They started walking down the first flight
of stairs when Jim motioned them to stop. They heard a door open below followed
by shoes scurrying up steps and echoing through the stairwell.
Cindy leaned over the side
cautiously.
FS
Shadows appear and disappear
several levels below them.
FS/ CAMERA FOLLOWING
Using several fingers, Cindy advised
the team how many floors below them. She then motioned for the team to continue
going down the stairs, but to stay away from the inside edge. Quietly, they
continued downward, careful to stay away from the edge should their shadows
give their location away.
***
FS CAMERA FOLLOWING
Shaitan, after going up several
levels, motioned for a guard to enter each corridor. Each time they reached a
new floor, one bodyguard exited the group and entered the floor suggested.
***
FS CAMERA FOLLOWING
Cindy, leaned close to the inside
edge cautiously looking over. They were getting too close for comfort. She
motioned for the team to exit the staircase on the next floor. They arrived at
the door and Joy opened it quietly.
FS
Walking at a fast pace, they exited
the stairwell and stood in a line against the wall next to the door. Cindy
watched through the window into the staircase for movement coming up the
stairs.
FS
A hand appeared around the corner
down the stairs.
FS
Cindy moved to the right of the
window and, turning to her team, she motioned for George to move up beside her and
wait... The door opened.
