THE CASE OF THE BLACK PEARL RING: FLYING AS THE WIND

It’s that time of the year when butterflies glide through the wind alighting on a delectable flower. Take a look at this photo that I took of a butterfly on Creeping Phlox. Isn’t it amazing how God created these creatures perfect for their purpose as well as for our enjoyment?

Since I am talking about enjoyment, who doesn’t like a good movie? I don’t know of anyone who doesn’t enjoy it occasionally. So, here is another excerpt of my screenplay.

FS CINDY
Cindy walked through the penthouse like nothing was going on while Wade was running through the house like an acrobat,

WADE:
“Cindy, could you help me, please?”

CINDY:
“It looks like you have it under control.”
Cindy said, laughing, which caused the dogs to stop and change directions in pursuit of her and she joined the acrobatic action. Wade relaxed for a moment while their attention was focused on Cindy. It wasn’t long before one dog was chasing her and the other dog came after him.

WADE:
“You gotta be kidding me.”
Wade said and he jumped up and began running. Cindy was making her way to the elevator,

CINDY:
“Steve, I’m almost there. Get ready.”

STEVE, THROUGH CINDY’S EARPIECE:
“Ready.”
Steve said after manipulating the equipment which opens the elevator door. Cindy ran toward the door and it opened immediately. She ran in and, with concern, watched the door close just before the dog arrived.

George was looking through the cooridor window when he saw Cindy walk out of the elevator. He watched her run toward him and he opened the staircase door for her.

GEORGE:
“Way to go!”
George closed the door and Cindy acknowledged his comment then sat down to catch her breath.

THREE-SHOT WADE AND DOGS
Wade is backed up against the window in the sitting room while both dogs are slowly walking toward him and growling. He scanned the room for an escape.

FS OVERSTUFFED CHAIR TO FS WALL BEHIND IT
Wade looked over at the large overstuffed chair next to him, then at the wall behind it.

FS WADE
Wade glanced up at the decorative light fixture hanging down from the ceiling in the middle of the room.

FS DOGS
The dogs come forward to attack.

FS WADE CAMERA BACKING
Wade ran two steps to gather speed, and using his left foot, he jumped up on the arm of the chair and carried through with his right foot slamming it half way up the wall, he rebounded and caught the light fixture and swung himself into the other room and closer to the elevator. The dogs skidded to a stop into the window which gave him extra time. He radioed Steve,

WADE:
“Steve, Get the elevator ready.”

STEVE, OVER THE EARPIECE:
“Ready.”
Replied Steve while manipulating the equipment that opened the elevator door.

Wade ran fast trying to get to the elevator before the dogs caught up. After he ran in, the doors began to close but one of the dogs stuck its head into the opening causing the door to remain open. The excessive barking and growling sounds echoed through the elevator. Wade tries to push the dog’s head out without getting bitten, an impossibility. When one dog cleared the elevator door the other took its place from below the first dog’s head, and that dog backed out and continued barking. This happened continually like a tag team. Finally, he got hold of a collar above the dog’s neck and, using his foot for leverage, he began to push the dog’s nose down and back slowly past the opening, then he released the collar and pulled his leg back into the elevator, and the elevator door closed. He reached up and held his ears, turned around in the elevator, and then noticed someone standing there.
