 One Star Outshone Them All

This is a painting of the baby Jesus Christ; the night Jesus Christ was born.

I have been working on three paintings that I want to introduce you to. All three of these paintings have meaning.

The first painting I will show you is the baby Jesus Christ on the night Jesus Christ was born. The evening sky was clear. Stars shone above, twinkling in the sight of those who were awake to see them. One star outshone them all.

Shepherds in the nearby fields of Bethlehem were given the news of a baby having been born in one of their own lambing caves. The shepherds used these lambing caves to care for the Temple lambs used in the sacrifice.

Bethlehem is approximately five miles from Jerusalem, perfect for gathering the sheep needed according to the law of Moses, which, in turn, was God’s law. Jesus Christ would be the sacrificial lamb many years later.

Jesus Christ, known as the Lamb of God, was heralded in as only God could do.

The second painting I want to introduce you to is called The Fisherman. Jesus Christ called and taught fishermen to be fishers of men. What an honor for the man in this painting!

When I was young, I would visit my Cherokee grandmother and grandfather in Oklahoma where me, my brother, and our cousins would spend hours playing in their fields. One of the best memories was stopping to get a drink out of the spring that came up from under the hill in their back pasture. The water was cool and pure. Nothing else like it on hot, summer days. I love these memories and enjoy sharing them with you.

I am praying for all who are experiencing difficulties, praying for our American government to reopen before the elderly are damaged by this unsightly mess that is happening in government, and praying for all people to know Jesus Christ, to have hope, and love in their hearts.

God bless.

Love always,

Laveda D. Rockford
