LET'S FLOOD THE WORLD WITH BEAUTY

Image
It's the hottest part of summer and some flowers have finished blooming. But here are a few photos of the flowers around the farm.  Late Summer Blooms Laveda D. Rockford I spent the morning planting these Chrysanthemums. The rock pillars were the inspiration for my 'Deliverance' painting.  Do you plant flowers in your yard? If so, I would love to see a photo of them. Let's flood the world with beauty on these late days of summer.  #GodsCreation is #beautiful  #Chrysanthemum #Gladiolus #Marigold  #latesummer #flowers at the #farm in #Missouri  © 2019 Laveda D. THE CASE OF THE BLACK PEARL RING: FIRST BRIEFING

Image
After Wade Hamilton retired from the FBI, Cindy Jones was promoted to lead his team. When Gina and Wade’s son,  Yahreh, was kidnapped, Cindy requested that her team get the assignment. The request was granted and the first briefing in The Case Of The Black Pearl Ring brings Cindy front and center. Read this excerpt of The Case Of The Black Pearl Ring to find out how it began. PRESSED AND SHAKEN UP: AN URGENCY TO REACH OUT

Image
I have been pressed and shaken up to write this post. My heart breaks over the sadness that I see in the world. This is not the world that I grew up in. I spent this past week going to services at a church camp meeting. I attended this same church camp when I was a little girl. I have fond memories of my Grandmother singing in her alto voice, listening to good sermons, and yes, alter calls. Not much has changed when it comes to the gathering of those who want to serve the Lord, but what has changed is the knowledge that time has moved on from that time long ago. There is an urgency to reach out to the lost soul. The recent disgusting acts of people this past weekend shows us how urgent it is. The desperate cry of a generation that knows nothing about God. Don't think that we have failed, for we are made for such a time as this and we stand. To encourage those working to spread the gospel of peace, I want to share the portion that I included in our church bulletin. ...

SOME SAY IT'S BORING... BUT NO, IT'S NOT

Image
I have been very busy lately helping family while getting situated after moving back to Missouri.  If you have never been to southern Missouri, you are missing out on how beautiful Missouri is.  I live in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains. We have mountain lions, rascals called raccoons, and deer galore among many other animal species.  Many years ago when my uncle was a young man, he was hunting next to a bluff not very far from the farm house. While he was looking through the dark shadows of dusk, every creature in the forest became suddenly still. No sound,... quiet, which is unusual in these hills. At that moment, he knew something was happening.  He noticed movement out of the corner of his eye and turned to see a mountain lion looking straight back at him. He knew better than to run. He moved slowly in one direction while the mountain lion moved in the opposite direction, never taking his eyes off him as they parted ways.  And some people say li...

THE CASE OF THE BLACK PEARL RING: WEDDING DAY

Image
THE CASE OF THE BLACK PEARL RING Screenplay THE CASE OF THE BLACK PEARL RING Laveda D. Rockford 2019 FADE IN WEDDING DAY ES It is a beautiful day. Gina is standing behind a partition trying to control her excitement. A white gazebo stands in the middle of a creek that opens up on one side into a large pool. Two ramps span the creek on either side of the gazebo. White flowers are positioned discreetly on the guardrails of both ramps. The same flowers Gina holds in her hand. Her bouquet is small and discreet, but it’s what she wanted. Her dress is the color of candlelight, full length, and beautiful. A beautiful wedding dress covered with lace designed with small groups of olives, it’s leaves and blooms. It’s not something that everyone would notice. She calls it a mystery through beauty.   VOICE-OVER, WADE: “We were married on a beautiful, sunny day. In honor of how God rescued her from the darkness of this world, using me in His plan. The two of us choose to...
