PASSOVER:
A DUO SALVATION STORY
Passover is the first festival on the
lunar calendar, God’s calendar. In the beginning, God created “days” to begin
in the evening.
And God called the light Day, and the darkness
He called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
Genesis
1:5
When following God’s calendar, Passover
is always in Spring. Each “month” starts with a new moon. Therefore, people who
could not read a calendar would not omit Passover.
In the fourteenth day of the first month
at evening is the LORD’s Passover.
Leviticus
23:5
God introduced Passover in the Old
Testament as salvation for the deliverance from bondage for the Israelites. They
were told to strike the blood of a male lamb onto the two side posts and upper
doorpost of the houses where they were to eat. (Exodus 12:5-7) The male lamb
had to be without blemish.
We also celebrate Passover through
deliverance from the bondage of sin concluding that Jesus Christ was our
sacrificial lamb. His blood covering our sins. John the Baptist declared Jesus
Christ as the Lamb of God.
The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto
him and saith, ‘Behold, the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.’
John
1:29
At Passover, Jesus Christ gave His life
for the remission of sin. (Matthew 26:28)
The festival of Unleavened Bread begins
on the next evening after Passover. Jesus Christ is described as the ‘Bread of
Life.’ He was born in Bethlehem which in Hebrew is translated the ‘House of
Bread.’ The Passover ceremony of breaking, burying, and resurrecting a piece of
this bread is a representation of Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection.
Praise God for His Deliverer!

Though I am not feeling very well today and stayed home from my other job, I feel it is important to explain the reason I believe that Jesus Christ is our Passover Lamb. This explanation is posted with love for all of my Orthodox Jewish friends. I love all my Jewish friends, and nothing will change my mind about that. Abraham believed in the Messiah before the Messiah was brought through a virgin and became flesh and blood to be the ultimate sacrifice. Praise the LORD for His delivering promise and our salvation. God bless and may you read this with all my love for you.
Love always,
