New Artwork In Progress 2025

It was an interesting time the past few weeks. We have had very wintry weather and a snow shower or two and we are supposed to get more snow showers on Tuesday. The weatherperson announced that we could get up to fifteen inches. Yikes!

So, what does a person do in freezing weather? If you are an artist, you grab a canvas and your oil paints and start painting. Well, to tell you the truth I pray first, I pray during and, I always pray while I paint. It really does help me because God gives me an idea but does not tell me how to proceed until the time is right. So, this is how I work. When I write, I do the same thing.

I saw a post that said something to the effect that poetry is a dying literature. I must disagree. The prose is and always will be from the heart and something a poet does is sing their words to the world in a form of art. Not singing but delicately winding through thought to form a sensational work of words, not altered, but merged into a marvelous poetical masterpiece that we call poetry. So, if you are one who thinks that poetry is a dying art, you must not have read it. Please try it and see what you think.

Here is a photo of my ornament for 2025 and my new painting on canvas. Neither my canvas nor my ornament is finished but as you can see, they are both on their way to completion.

  A New Garden Feature Labor Day: a day set aside for special recognition of the workingman, or in this case, woman. In other words, it is a day to reflect on all of the work a person puts into their vocation. Though I have the day off, I still had to mow the lawn around my flower garden. And since I purchased a new garden feature, I had to post this about it. Purity is an especially important word in the Christian faith. The words purity and purify can be used interchangeably. Purity: the quality or state of being pure Purify: to grow or become pure or clean To honor our journey through this thing we call life, here is the new art feature in my flower garden.   Flower Garden Season Composition | Laveda D. Rockford I am trying my best in the heat of early summer to complete my flower garden borders. I have been working on this vision for almost two years and have finally reached a point where I can show you and you can understand. The newest section will contain a small patio area with table and chairs surrounded on one side with Buxus as a screen of privacy. Burgundy Plum and Cherry trees, as well as Sand Cherry and a few tulips will welcome spring weather. Then Iris will rise up until they burst into their beauty. Purple, yellow, and a burgundy and white combination. Oh, what a delight. Late spring into summer, Yarrow (Achillea) rise higher and throw on their crown of flowers acting as a forerunner into summer’s beauty. Phlox, Whirling Butterflies (Gaura) purple Salvia, Shasta Daisy, Hydrangea and Clematis all vie for attention in the summer sun.
