LOVE: A SWAN SONG? | LAVEDA D. ROCKFORD
LOVE: A SWAN SONG?
Is love a swan song? I looked up how many ways to say love.
According to www.indifferentlanguages.com there
are over 100 ways to say it. Amour, Gra, Amore, Amor and the list goes on.
In The United States of America, we have people that come
from all over the world. Though this word is universal, where did this
universal feeling go?
I have watched hatred fill our atmosphere almost to the
point of no “good” will toward our fellow man. Everyone who is a so-called
activist should be concerned of this turn of events. An activist is supposed to
have the innate ability to look at an issue and decide what is good and right,
fair and just, with an equality for all regardless of what others do and say.
To argue a cause that is important to them and this, today, is my cause.
At the beginning of humanity, Adam was concerned when he
did not see a companion for himself. (Genesis 2:20) One of the most important
works of God was to make a companion for man. A companion is someone to assist
and share in the twists and turns of life. Companionship is a fellowship among
companions. If we are all in this together, this ship that we call life, what
then do we care about if not love first? Love, a universal word.
A reflection of a world where love does not exist would
look something like this.
Love lagging lamented labial,
Lanced, limping &
lifeless.
Lingering loiter laying lurid,
Love’s luscious luminance
lost.
I am calling on all of you who still believe in love to join me in making our world a better place. Showing love instead of hate. Spreading peace around the world, making a difference. It is okay to be different if your difference is above the status quo. Rise up above the gutter and live where everyone has the right to pursue happiness and where love exists.
While most of us celebrate that universal word LOVE, I hope
that you can rise above and join your voice with us to make the world a better
place.
God bless and have a wonderful weekend.
With love,
